This is response to the advocacy of BlogActionDay 2008. I have always been curious as to how Poverty has affected the way people live and on what they had become. I saw some poor people who enjoys life better than their rich counterparts and there are also poor people who have made poverty as their motivation to excel. With the way the economy is today, I'm really considering becoming an Independent Contractor. Most people know us as work at home moms, entrepreneurs, and small business owners. I hope that I'm ready for this because there is a lot of research and work ahead. Independent Contractors have to establish their own contract, produce flyers, produce business cards, set up advertising, speak with an income tax advisor and basicly hit the ground running. I've heard this before. And laughed. Who needs to be reminded to drink more water? If you're thirsty, drink. It's not rocket science! Insert foot in mouth, ladies and gentlemen, because I was wrong.
Now that I work at home, the 'water issue' is a real concern. Just yesterday I realized that I had gone almost an entire day without anything to drink. An entire day! How could this be? Okay so it's eight months later. But ya know what? I met a woman for lunch yesterday, somethin I do often meet someone for lunch, that is. This is a woman who was asking me for coaching in her Greeting Card business, same business as mine, we're not related to each other business wise and some people might have a different view and see us as directly competetive, but I don't and I'm always willing to help. Especially when someone offers to buy me lunch, right downstairs of where I live one in one of the very coolest nighborhoods in Atlanta. So she's a photographer building a Greeting Card business, just like me a photographer building a Greeting Card business. I've been doing the Greeting Cards for 4 years and I'm doing great with it. I'm the top banana in Atlanta LOL - It's true Maran Banta, Top Banana in Atlanta.ROFL She's been doin cards for a year and isn't doin so well.
