Next week, Verizon will offer its 10 million customers faster FiOS Internet service. At the maximum 50-Mbps download (20-Mbps upload) speed, FIOS is considered the fastest service available. Verizon expects its customer base to grow to more than 18 million by 2010.At the NXTcomm conference in Las Vegas Wednesday, Verizon President and CEO Denny Strigl said the company is expanding its FiOS Internet connections of 50/20-, 20/20-, 20/5- and 10/2-Mbps across all of the telecom provider's FiOS Internet service footprint in 16 states.
